Signal (Samsat Digital Nasional) is the official government application designed to simplify vehicle tax payments for Indonesians. While the intent is to digitize a traditionally bureaucratic process, the current application suffers from a fragmented user experience. The goal of this redesign is to transform a frustrating, high-friction process into a seamless, "one-click" digital experience, allowing users to fulfill their legal obligations without ever needing to visit a physical tax office.

Despite being a digital solution, the current app often feels more complicated than the offline alternative. The core challenges include:
High Cognitive Load: The UI is cluttered with technical jargon and a confusing information hierarchy, making it difficult for users to know where to start.
Friction in the Payment Flow: Users face "dead ends" and technical errors during the most critical stage—payment—leading to anxiety over whether the transaction was successful.
Trust & Reliability: Inconsistent UI patterns and outdated design elements diminish user trust, which is critical for an app handling sensitive personal data and financial transactions.
Accessibility Issues: The lack of intuitive navigation makes it nearly impossible for non-tech-savvy users to complete their tax payments without external help.

To tackle these issues, I applied a user-centric design process focused on streamlining the journey from vehicle registration to digital receipt:
Experience Audit & User Mapping: I analyzed the existing flow to identify "pain points" where users typically drop off or get confused, mapping out a more logical, linear path.
UI Modernization & Clean Layout: I stripped away the visual clutter, implementing a clean, modern aesthetic that prioritizes clarity. I used a structured grid system to ensure that vehicle data and tax breakdowns are easy to read.
Simplified Payment Integration: I redesigned the payment gateway interface to provide clear status updates, multiple payment options, and instant digital proof of payment (E-TBPKP).
Automated Reminders & Tracking: I introduced a proactive notification system to alert users of upcoming tax deadlines and a real-time tracker for the physical delivery of tax stickers (if applicable).
Design System Implementation: I created a cohesive set of components (buttons, forms, and icons) to ensure visual consistency across the entire application, building a sense of professional reliability.
