The Overview
For SMAN 3 Bandung’s yearbook project, I took charge as the Senior Graphic Designer—leading the concept, creative direction, visual theme, photography planning, and complete layout design. This wasn’t just about documentation—it was about crafting a memorable, high-quality visual archive for one of Bandung’s most iconic schools.
The Challenge
With a strong academic identity and a rich student culture, SMAN 3 deserved a yearbook that felt prestigious yet personal. The challenge was to balance editorial polish with emotional storytelling—ensuring every page felt cohesive, student-focused, and visually timeless, all within strict timelines and coordination with multiple stakeholders.
What We Did
I developed a concept inspired by duality: discipline and expression. Photography was art-directed to feel cinematic yet authentic, with attention to lighting, tone, and layout rhythm. I built a flexible grid system that kept the structure clean but gave room for visual play. The final design was bold, refined, and deeply rooted in the school’s character—resulting in a publication that both students and educators were proud to own.
